A little introduction: I do enjoy canoeing (and coffee!), hiking, writing poems, and working in my garden. I also enjoy reading and discussing literature--both fiction and nonfiction, and I like to read realistic fiction, especially. I look forward to hearing your insightful analysis, considering your thought-provoking questions, reading your creative compositions, and sharing mine with you.
This is my 9th year teaching World Literature at Holly Springs High School. I have a Masters degree in Creative Writing (from NC State) and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science (from the University of Dayton). I've worked in software engineering, run my own business, edited and composed technical journals and brochures, written a novel and a collection of short stories and poems.
I was born in Lexington, Kentucky (Go Cats!), went to school in Dayton, Ohio (Go, Flyers!), and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona for a few years, where I met my husband. We came to North Carolina in 1995, where I learned I liked teaching. I'm happy that I've landed here at Holly Springs High School (Go, Hawks!). I'm also a mother to three grown children and a grandmother to three young ones. It's been a wonderful journey!
I look forward to meeting you and hearing your stories, as well!
